Jernejevo – Herbalist Day in the Land of the Hayracks, August 24, 2013, 10:00am – 9:30pm

Herbalist Day in the Land of the Hayracks is designed as an all-day gathering of herb lovers in a unique environment of the world’s first open-air museum of hayracks. The participants will explore former and present healing powers and diverse usage of meadow flowers by the help of some recognized herbalists and ethnobotanists: Jože Kukman, Vlasta Mlakar and Mirjam Grilc.

The educational part of the day will include the guided tour of the museum and it will be completed under toplar (double hayrack) in the relaxed atmosphere of Slovenian folk tales and songs performed by singer, storyteller and collector of Slovene oral tradition Ljoba Jenče, accompanied by a folk musician Nina Volk on oprekelj (dulcimer) and plonarica (diatonic accordion).
